Valery KORENCHUK, ESFIAP, EFIAP/S, ED-ISF, FPSG

Valery Korenchuk was born on September 10th 1940 in Alma-Ata (Almaty now) in Kazakhstan (part of USSR early), where he still lives,
In 1963 he graduated from Leningrad ship building Institute with degree in engineer in torpedo building. He worked ten years as engineer at torpedo building plant in Alma-Ata.
In this time he studied the Russian philology in Kazakh State University and in 1972 graduated by correspondence from Allunion State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) with degree in screenwriter.
He has been keen on photography since first year of Leningrad Institute in 1959.
In 1965 he joined “Medeo” photo club and is it’s president last 40 years.
In 1974 he joined Union of Journalists of USSR and in 2009 got the title “Honored Journalist of Kazakhstan”.
He has taken part in photographic exhibition since 1967.
In 1989 he took part in Constituent Congress of Union of photo artists of USSR and was elected to it’s government.

In 1997 he joined Creative Union “Photoart” and now has title “Master PhotoArt”.
In 2000 he got the honorable titles AFIAP and EFIAP at once. Then in 2003 he got titles ESFIAP and EFIAP/B, late in 2005 title EFIAP/S.
In 2006 Korenchuk was elected academician of “Petri Primi academia scientiarium et atrium”.
Korenchuk’s works were exposed at more than 700 international contests under FIAP and PSA patronage and got more than 100 awards. The most significant is:

1977 – Grand Prize “Zlatno oko-77”, Maglai, Yugoslavia.
1982 - Hong Kong – Gold Medal and Best Action.
1999 – 26th Eastcape Salon – PSA Gold Medal, PSSA Gold Medal, Ribbon.
2001 - GaSo Slide Circuit – 2 PSA Best of Show, 2 GaSo Medal, 6 Hon Mention.
Korenchuk had nearly 40 personal exhibitions in Kazakhstan, Romania, Lithuania, Estonia.
Since 2006 he has teaching fine art photography, theory of color and dramaturgy as professor in Academy of cinema and TV.
