Ioannis Lykouris is born in Athens. He attended in Athens the Law School University and in Paris the University of Pantheon-Sorbonne II, as a postgraduate student. He works as a lawyer in Greece and actually is the D. Legal Counsel of the Hellenic Post SA. He speaks Greek, French, English and German.
Interested in photography from the age of 12, he became the youngest member of the Hellenic Photographic Society and since then worked a lot in portraits and travel photography. His works have been regularly published in many travel magazines and very often distinguished in national and international level with many awards and medals. His photos have been presented in many countries in Greece and abroad during more than 40 personal and group exhibitions. In 1997 he was elected as FIAP Liaison Officer of Greece and in 2010 as a Member of the Board of Directors of FIAP (International Federation of Photographic Art). In 2011 he assumed both the responsibilities of the Direction of FIAP Biennial Service and of the Vice Presidency of the Hellenic Photographic Society. In 2012 he was elected as General Secretary of FIAP, to be reelected two years later, during the 32nd FIAP congress. |
He is very often called as a jury member in international photographic contests. In the year 2002, FIAP honored him with the distinction of AFIAP (Artiste FIAP), soon followed by the distinction EFIAP (Excellence FIAP) (2009) and finally by the highest distinction MFIAP (Master of FIAP) in the year 2014, for his artistic inspiration and work. As recognition to his contribution to FIAP and Photography, FIAP granted him also the honorific distinctions of EsFIAP in 2007 and HonEFIAP in 2012.
