Susan was always interested in different forms of art but never took up the hobby of photography until she went to a PSA  conference about 6 years ago. At the conference she sat in on several Photoshop classes and used a borrowed camera to do a model photo shoot.  She was hooked.  Since she started competing Internationally 4 years ago Susan has won over 100 gold medals, completed a Professional Photography program at Tri-Community Photo Center in Southern California (2 year program) and has developed expert skills in Photoshop.  Her interest in portrait photography has led her to add make-up skills and knowledge of styling to her résumé.

While much of her photographic activity is making beautiful images for competitions, she has done several community projects such as her recent Pink Scarf series, working with the American Cancer Society, taking images of breast cancer survivors in a pink scarf to bring attention and raise money for Breast Cancer awareness.

Susan has given many lectures on “Taking the Mystery Out of Portrait Photography Photo Shop” at local camera clubs, the PSA Conference and even Internationally in England.  Susan also gives private photo shop lessons.  She currently is the Chairman of the CPID Division at PSA.  She has held many titles in her local camera club and council.   Susan competes internationally in Color Open, Photo Travel, PJ and Nature. She also has judged many International Exhibitions, PSA Competitions, Camera Councils and Camera Clubs.
