Shyamal Kumar Roy - AFIAP - EFIAP - FFIP, born in 1949 and did his M.Sc. from Calcutta University in the year 1976. Have keen interest in photography since his childhood. He had started his photography at the age of 18 with a Box Camera made of Agfa Gevaret.
Joined in Photographic Association of Dum Dum as a student in the year 1973 and completed his Diploma course in the year 1976. After that did his Post Diploma Course on Portrait Photography under the valued guidance of the Great photographer Late Benu Sen. , and till date he is a faculty member of the Photographic Association of Dum Dum.
He started his profession as a Assistant professor in a College, and had retired as a Scientist Irrigation Department R&D in the year 2009.
His first International acceptance was in the year 1978. After that he is a dedicated pictorial photographer till date. |

His prime interest is on Portrait study, and studied the portraits in indoor and outdoor evenly. By heart he is a teacher, and spreading the techniques of photography all over India through Seminars and Workshops. He has participated in lots of International and National Salons of Photography and also acted as a jury member in several National Salons of Photography. His works had already exhibited in more than 20 countries of the world. |
