João Luís de Queiroz Taborda - Born in Lisbon on 19th July 1950. |
Doctor - expert in Lung Disease and passionate about photography.
Raised in a family with passion for photography, from a young age João became familiar with the cameras and lab work.From 1987, with more experience, he starts applying for national and international competitions, winning over three hundred awards, including:
- Portimão City Award - Racal Club Silves 1995
- Gold Medal (1993), Silver Medal (1995-1997) and Bronze Medal (1994-1997) at the International Exhibition of Photography in the Algarve (Racal Club Silves).
- Selected as one of the eight photographers who represented Portugal in the EEC Exhibition - One day in European – 1997
- Performed more than 30 personal photo exhibitions, highlighting the International Exhibition held in:
- Brussels - Belgium (2001)
- Visual Arts Center - Rovigno / Croatia (2001)
- Portuguese Association of Photographic Art board member (1990 -1993)
- Jury in several photography events as the International Fair of Photographic Art - Silves since 1998.
- Jury at the Austrian Super Circuit - Linz – Austria 2003
- Jury at the Photography THE AL-THANI AWARD - Linz - Austria 2013
- Published two photography books: Cereália and Caleidoscópio
- Published photos in several magazines and newspapers
- Winner of the 11th World Photofestival - Grand Award Batana - Rovigno - Croatia 2000
- In 2002 FIAP has honoured him with the AFIAP award title - Artist of the International Federation of Photographic Art.

In 2011 returns to his photographic work making the transition from analog to digital photography, presenting photos on international fairs and events all around the world. He won more than 50 gold medals, several silver and bronze medals and received more than 150 special mentions. Some of these awards are: |
