I was born in 1946 in Ljubljana (Slovenia). I am a retired electro technical engineer.
For the whole of my professional career, I worked in the telecoms industry, from software development to product marketing.
I first became interested in photography when I was 17. I became more serious in 1968 when I enrolled in a photographic course lead by the prominent teacher and master of photography, Vlastja Simončič, EFIAP, Hon EFIAP, who kindled in me a love for photography. That same year saw my first exhibition of my works, which took place in Zagreb.
During  45 years of my involvement in photography, I have taken part in over 170 exhibitions in Slovenia and participated at 340 international exhibitions; as a result I have exhibited over 1,900 photographs in more than 50 countries. I have mounted 23 independent exhibitions in Slovenia, in Ljubljana, Kranj and other Slovenian towns, as well as in Zagreb and Budapest and have received over 85 awards and recognitions for my work.
For achievements as photographer I received EFIAP/g in 2012 and MFIAP in 2014. I become national Slovene master of photography in 2008.
I have been invited to judge Slovenian and international exhibitions with the FIAP patronage (twice in Serbia, three times in Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina, respectively, once in Italy and Macedonia and four times in Slovenia). I am also active in an organisational role in the field of photography.
Since the begin of 2008 I have been working as a FIAP Liaison Officer responsible for fostering ties between the Federation Internationalle de l'Art Photographique (FIAP) and the Photographic Association of Slovenia (FZS). For organizational achievements FIAP DB granted me ESFIAP in 2009.
